Occident Portal Accessibility Statement (Occident.com)
Date of statement: 2 January 2024
Last revision of the statement: 28 January 2025
Commitment to Accessibility:
At Occident, we recognise the importance of ensuring that our website is accessible to all people, regardless of their abilities. For this reason, we have implemented measures to ensure that the occident.com site reaches a high degree of compliance with the Double A level of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) of the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Adapted accessibility criteria:
To ensure an inclusive and accessible experience, we have adopted the following measures on our website:
- Customisable visual adjustments: The visual characteristics of the site, such as typography, colours and background, are defined through style sheets, allowing users to adjust the appearance of the text according to their needs and preferences.
- Improved contrast: The contrast between the visual elements and the content has been optimised to ensure a clear and comfortable reading experience, even in low visibility conditions.
- Scalability of fonts: Font sizes are configured with relative values, making it easier for users to expand or reduce the text from their browser's tools.
- Access without style dependencies: The content of the site has been designed to be accessible even if the style sheets are disabled or the browser does not support them, ensuring that all the information is understandable.
- Logical and semantic structure: The organisation of the pages follows a logical structure, designed for both users who interact visually and for those who use assistive technologies such as screen readers. All elements, such as headings and lists, have been properly codified in HTML to maximise understanding.
- Multi-platform compatibility: The site's HTML and CSS code complies with formal standards, ensuring a consistent and functional experience in different browsers and devices.
- Contextual description of interactive elements: Links, buttons and other interactive elements include alternative or descriptive texts that clearly explain their purpose, even outside the context.
- Optimisation for assistive technologies: The website is designed to operate efficiently with support tools, such as screen readers, text extension software and other auxiliary technologies.
- Accessibility on mobile devices: We have ensured that the design is fully functional and accessible on any screen size, adapting to the variety of devices currently available.
Scope of the Statement:
This statement of compliance applies solely to pages under the occident.com domain, including:
- The main page.
- Representative templates of the main sections of the portal.
The following fall outside the scope of this statement:
