Types of transport policy

Category that covers the goods corresponding to sales, purchases or both, or the volume of goods transported during the year. This entails payment of a deposit premium that is adjusted at the end of the year.

A temporary policy that insures the goods on a single journey or a fixed number of journeys, at the end of which the policy is automatically cancelled.

Coverage for one year of goods transported in specific vehicles identified in the policy by their number plates.

A type of policy without a deposit premium that requires each transport operation to be declared. The amount will be adjusted at agreed intervals, for example, every month. This type of policy is suitable for policyholders who regularly and frequently make similar shipments of goods.

We adapt to suit your needs, which is why we offer you various ways of taking out our insurance policies, such as an annual policy based on regularisable turnover, by number plates, a travel policy or a floating policy based on declarations.

Our transport policies are flexible and adapt to the geographical area you need. The most extensive option offers protection throughout the world, except for countries engaged in armed conflict or subject to commercial restrictions.

If you are a land transport company and your scope of transport is international, you at least need to take out transport company insurance with at least contractual liability coverage in compliance with the Convention on the Carriage of Goods by Road (CMR) relating to the contract for the international carriage of goods by road. This will cover your liability for the goods you transport up to the maximum €/kg currently payable.

If you transport goods by land within this country, you need insurance for carriers with at least coverage for contractual liability in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Contracts for the Transport of Goods by Land (LCTTM). This will cover your liability for the goods transported up to the maximum €/kg currently payable.
