What makes our EPSV individual pension plans different
EPSVs are a specific savings product for residents of the Basque Country, aimed at supplementing the public pension system. They are contracted through a Voluntary Mutual Benefit Organisation (EPSV) and have significant advantages, regarding both tax matters and their management.
Tax benefits of EPSVs
Tax treatment of contributions
Tax benefit with a reduction in the taxable income base for Personal Income Tax. You cannot apply this reduction from the beginning of the tax period following your retirement.
Taxation of benefits
From 01/01/2026, the portion of contributions/payments to EPSV benefits is classified as employment income (70% integration if paid as a lump sum; 100% if received as income) and the return as movable capital (exempt if the benefit is a life annuity or a temporary annuity with a duration of at least 15 years). The corresponding withholdings and payments on account will be applied according to the tables and regulations of each Provincial Council.
Transitional regime (benefits linked to contributions/payments made before 01/01/2026)
When filing the personal income tax return, the member may alternatively apply the regulations in force as of 31/12/2025 to the portion received as a lump sum linked to said contributions/payments (60% integration as employment income in the first payment and with more than two years since the first contribution).
Returns on our EPSV
The performance of the EPSV will depend on the performance of the assets in which the fund is invested. Based on the plan's investment policy, the plan will invest in money market assets, fixed income (debt), equities or a combination of these. (*) Previous returns do not guarantee future returns.
